Abstract

Se introduce aquí una parte del volumen que ayuda a entender China como nación atenida a la idea confuciana de una sociedad no teocrática (donde diferentes sistemas de sentido han de competir por la credibilidad social sin esperar el favor del poder político), que contribuyó al desarrollo de la idea de una sana «secularización» en el ámbito de la cristiandad europea. A su vez, esta parte pone el acento en el contexto del mundo de representaciones y cosmovisiones en el que Pantoja respiró y que él mismo contribuyó a forjar. Esta parte del volumen se fija, en suma, en las interacciones culturales, particularmente las que afectan al mundo de las ideas y las creencias, entre China y el mundo hispánico.

A part of the volume is introduced here that helps to understand China as a nation based on the Confucian idea of ​​a non-theocratic society (where different systems of meaning have to compete for social credibility without hoping to rely on the favor of political power). This conception contributed to the development of the idea of ​​a healthy "secularization" in the sphere of European Christianity. At the same time, this part places the accent on the context of the world of representations and worldviews in which Pantoja breathed and that he himself contributed to forge. In short, this part of the work focuses on cultural interactions, particularly those that affect the world of ideas and beliefs, between China and the Hispanic world.
