Acompañamiento a familiares de pacientes oncológico en estado terminal

Abstract

Las personas que sufren una enfermedad terminal desde que reciben la noticia del diagnóstico hasta el momento del fallecimiento, sufren una serie de síntomas tanto físicos como emocionales. Los profesionales sanitarios su misión principal es trabajar para conseguir que aquellas necesidades que el paciente y la familia requieren sean cubiertas de forma completa. El paciente terminal que padece una enfermedad sin posibilidad de supervivencia, sus cuidados deben ir dirigidos a recibir una atención con la máxima calidad y confort posible. Tanto el paciente como la familia sufren un duelo interno, que requieren de asistencia y de amparo para afrontar esta situación. La educación por parte de la familia durante el proceso de enfermedad, es valioso muchos de ellos sufren culpa, aislamiento, depresión, miedo... por ello es preciso que conozcan los recursos con los que cuentan para enfrentarse a esta nueva situación, con las menores consecuencias que puedan provocar en su futuro. El presente proyecto educativo estará dirigido a mejorar la calidad de vida de los familiares que de forma directa, involucran al mismo paciente, que sufre la enfermedad.

People who suffer a terminal illness from the moment they receive the news of the diagnosis until the moment of death, suffer a series of physical and emotional symptoms. Health professionals' main mission is to work to ensure that those needs that the patient and family require are fully covered. The terminal patient who suffers from a disease without the possibility of survival, the care of it must be directed to receive care with the highest possible quality and comfort. Both the patient and the family suffer an internal grief, requiring assistance and protection to face this situation. Education by the family during the disease process is valuable, many of them suffer guilt, isolation, depression, fear... for this reason it is necessary that they know the resources they have to face this new situation, with the minor consequences that may cause in the future. This educational project will be aimed at improving the quality of life of family members who directly involve the same patient, who suffers from the disease.
