Abstract

Spirituality is an essential element in the exercise of the ordained ministry, which implies its relationship with Jesus Christ High and Eternal Priest, because it nourishes the interior life and the relationship with God, so as not to get lost in the dispersion of the world and fall into the seductive offers that make us lose the sense of ministry and missin. In a social and cultural reality that today strongly influences the life of every believer, it has been 8 of great importance to deepen on the ordained ministry, particularly in the line of its spirituality in the fase of the challenges and challenges that arise in the exercise of the ministry. It is worth mentioning that the priest is above all a man who has been summoned, called and consecrated by God from this reality, to serve his brother. Therefore the analisis of our research supported by the documents of the magisterium of the Church and the contributions of authors who address the place of the priest in today´s reality, we have been able to reach the conclusion that it is possible to speak of priestly spirituality today, because it is about living his identity as a consecrated person, which does not start from the means, It is the axis that guides him to live a spirituality proper to his being, in the same way the ministry is integrated in the Church, where his identity becomes life exercised properly in the evangelizing mission, this spirituality has to be maintained in a constant discernment, in the permanet vigilance of his life in relation to the world, with the purpose of fulfilling the Will of God.
