Con infinito exceso. La fe cristiana a la luz de un Amor sobreabundante

Abstract

El amor constituye el corazón del cristianismo y su desbordamiento irrestricto revela la lógica interna de la fe. Como decía J. Ratzinger, «la sobreabundancia es la mejor definición de la historia de la salvación» porque «la ley del amor es la entrega, sólo cuando es excesivo es suficiente». Bajo tal convicción ha sido pensado este libro, en cuyas páginas se ensaya una aproximación a la fe cristiana desde la perspectiva del infinito exceso del amor, que es la entraña más profunda de Dios y la vocación más alta del hombre. Así pues, su autor ha querido ofrecer, con una mirada a la vez sistemática y contemplativa, una ventana abierta hacia lo más nuclear del cristianismo, visitando los diferentes paisajes que conforman la geografía del creer: el misterio de la fe, de Dios, de la creación, del ser humano, de Cristo, de la salvación, de la vida eterna, de la Iglesia, etc. Y comprendiendo que todo ello relumbra más vivamente cuando se contempla en su infinito exceso, a la luz de un Amor sobreabundante. El libro está escrito a un tiempo con rigor y belleza, con lucidez y frescura, con palabras e imágenes, con capacidad sintética y evocadora, con vocación teológica y literaria, con amor a las fuentes y sensibilidad actual. Su lectura puede ayudar tanto a la formación teológica de adultos como a la actualización de aquellos que, habiéndose formado previamente, deseen renovar sus conocimientos teológicos a partir de un enfoque poco trillado, sugerente y llamado a ser fecundo. También puede servir, bien en clave espiritual, como lectura meditativa del mensaje cardinal del Evangelio, bien en clave evangelizadora, como ocasión para repensar los desafíos pastorales y el anuncio de la fe en nuestros días desde los peculiares perfiles del infinito exceso. Una categoría teológica y vivencial que, siendo perenne como el amor, está en gran medida aún por explorar.

Love constitutes the very heart of Christianity, and its unrestrained overflowing reveals the inner logic of faith. As J. Ratzinger once said, “Superabundance is the best definition of the history of salvation,” because “the law of love is self-giving; only when it is excessive is it sufficient.”

With this conviction, the present book was conceived as an attempt to approach Christian faith from the perspective of the infinite excess of love — the deepest essence of God and the highest vocation of humankind.

Thus, the author seeks to offer, with both a systematic and contemplative gaze, an open window toward the very core of Christianity, exploring the diverse landscapes that make up the geography of belief: the mystery of faith, of God, of creation, of the human being, of Christ, of salvation, of eternal life, of the Church, and so on. All of these realities shine more vividly when contemplated in their infinite excess, in the light of an overabundant Love.
