Restructuración del sistema financiero español y su régimen fiscal

Abstract

La crisis económica mundial vivida a partir de los años 2007/2008 puso en cuestión el sistema financiero sobre el que se asienta nuestra sociedad. En España en particular, la fuerte dependencia de nuestra economía al sector inmobiliario, nos hizo especialmente vulnerables a esta situación. Una tardía, pero contundente respuesta por parte de los gobiernos tuvo como consecuencias la reestructuración de un sector financiero español compuesto principalmente de Cajas de Ahorro. Su reordenación, a través de mecanismos como los sistemas institucionales de protección, y los regímenes fiscales aplicables a éstos, constituyen el objeto principal del presente trabajo.

The financial crisis that took place from 2007/2008 questioned the financial system over which our society stands. In Spain, particularly, the strong dependence of our economy to real estate, made us especially vulnerable to this situation. A late, but convincing response from the governments led to the restructuration of the Spanish financial sector, mainly composed of Saving Banks. This reorganization, carried out through mechanisms such as the institutional systems of protection, and the fiscal rules applicable to them, are the main objects of this paper.
