Democratizar la empresa en clave ecosocial

Abstract

El texto defiende que la democratización de la empresa no debe limitarse a ampliar la participación formal de quienes trabajan, sino replantearse desde una perspectiva ecosocial. La autora sostiene que la empresa es también una institución política y cuestiona que pueda ser verdaderamente democrática dentro de un modelo extractivista, desigual y orientado al crecimiento ilimitado. A partir de ejemplos de economía solidaria y cooperativa, argumenta que lo alternativo no es una categoría fija, sino una posición relacional en tensión con las lógicas dominantes. Concluye que una transición ecosocial justa exige no solo innovar, sino también deshacer estructuras de acumulación, redistribuir riqueza y tiempo de trabajo, y abrir espacios de deliberación, dignidad y corresponsabilidad colectiva.

The text argues that democratizing the enterprise should not be limited to formally expanding workers’ participation, but must be rethought from an ecosocial perspective. The author maintains that the firm is also a political institution and questions whether it can be truly democratic within an extractive, unequal model driven by capital accumulation and endless growth. Drawing on examples from cooperatives and solidarity economy initiatives, she explains that what is “alternative” is not a fixed category, but a relational position shaped in tension with dominant logics. The text concludes that a just ecosocial transition requires not only innovation, but also dismantling structures that sustain accumulation, redistributing wealth and working time, and turning the enterprise into a space of deliberation, dignity, and shared responsibility.
