Proyecto educativo dirigido a familias de niños recientemente diagnosticados de cáncer: gestión del estado emocional.

Abstract

Introducción: El cáncer infantil no solo afecta al niño diagnosticado, sino que también tiene una repercusión tanto física como psicológica en la familia, generando un desajuste emocional y alterando la dinámica familiar. Enfermería debe ofrecer una atención integral y un apoyo continuo a estas familias para que puedan ser capaces de manejar sus emociones y se sientan acompañados. Objetivo: Este proyecto educativo está dirigido a padres y hermanos de niños recientemente diagnosticados de cáncer, y tiene como objetivo principal ofrecerles recursos y estrategias para ayudar a gestionar su estado emocional durante el proceso. Además, de mejorar su afrontamiento y el apoyo percibido por parte del personal de enfermería. Metodología: El proyecto se llevará a cabo en el Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro. Se realizarán 4 sesiones grupales, junto con dos entrevistas familiares, una antes y otra después de estas, impartidas por dos enfermeras, un psicólogo y un trabajador social. Implicaciones para la práctica enfermera: Este proyecto destaca el papel de enfermería en el acompañamiento emocional y educación de las familias, convirtiéndose en un pilar fundamental en la atención y en el apoyo. La enfermera ayuda de manera activa a que las familias gestionen de manera correcta sus emociones y promoviendo una adecuada adaptación al proceso. Contribuyendo a que las familias tengan una mejor calidad de vida

Introduction: Childhood cancer not only affects the diagnosed child but also has both phsical and psichological repercussions on yhe family, causing emotional distress and altering family dynamics. Nursing must provide comprehensive care and continuous support to these families, helping them manage their emotions and feel accompained throughout the process. Objective: This educational Project is aimed at parents and siblings of children recently diagnosed with cancer. Its main objective is to provide them with resources and strategies to help manage their emotional state during the process, as well as to improve their coping skills and the emotional support they perceive from nursing staff. Methodology: The Project Will be conducted at the University Hospital Puerta de Hierro. It will consists of four group sessions, along with two family interviews, one before and one after the sessions, led by two nurses, a psychologist and a social worker. Implications for nursing practice: This Project highlights the key role of nursing support and educaction of families, becoming a fundamental pillar in their care. The nurse actively helps families properly manage their emotions, promotes adequate adaptation to the process, and contributes to an improved quality of life for the families involved
