Abstract

Estamos siendo testigos del mayor éxodo que jamás hayamos conocido con una cifra total de 65,3 millones de personas que se han visto obligadas a desplazarse ya sea a través de sus fronteras o bien en el interior de sus países. Esta crisis humanitaria sin precedentes ha puesto en jaque a la UE, pues se ha visto desbordada frente a estas olas migratorias. Todo ello ha conllevado a que las instituciones de la Unión Europea se hayan replanteado, por una parte, su sistema de derecho de asilo, y, por otro lado, la gestión de la inmigración irregular.

-Summary in English: We are witnessing the greater exodus ever known with a total of 65,3 million people who have been forced to move, to live their houses in search of an uncertain future. Throughout history, migration has been a fact of life, however, this humanitarian crisis is one of the most important we have ever had. Due to the high number of refugees and asylum seekers who have flee to Europe, the European Union has been overtaken by these events. Consequently, the European institutions have reconsidered their asylum system as well as the way they control illegal immigration.
