Discapacidad intelectual y trastorno mental : auto-percepción y percepción social sobre su calidad de vida

Abstract

Mediante esta investigación se buscaba hallar las diferencias existentes entre la auto-percepción que poseen sujetos con Discapacidad Intelectual y sujetos con DI y comorbilidad con un Trastorno Mental. Por otro lado, se estudiaron las diferencias que existen entre la percepción social existente sobre los grupos anteriores para, finalmente, comparar ambos resultados. Para llevar a cabo la investigación de aplicó la Escala INICO-FEAPS sobre Calidad de Vida a un total de 40 sujetos con DI con o sin un TM asociado. Para completar la información se adaptó esa misma escala para sujetos sin DI, con el fin de obtener su actitud ante esta población. Los resultados obtenidos informan sobre diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre la percepción social, según posea el sujeto, o no, un TM. Se han obtenido también, para la mayoría de las dimensiones de la escala, puntuaciones mayores en autopercepción que en percepción social. Esta investigación permitirá mejorar el trabajo llevado a cabo en centros destinados a DI, indicando que dimensiones deben profundizarse. Por otro lado, propone un trabajo sobre la sociedad y su percepción sobre la DI, trabajando la sensibilización.

With this research we sought to find the differences between self-perception of subjects with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and subject with ID and a mental disorder. On the other hand, we sought to find the differences between social perception of ID and ID and comorbidity, to, finally, compare the two results. To carry out the research we apply INICO-FEAPS Scale of Life’s Quality (LQ) on 40 subjects with ID (with or without comorbidity). After that and for obtain more information, we adapted the scale for people without ID. We pretend to obtain the attitude that they have. The results reported statistically significant differences between social perception (according to a diagnosis of ID or comorbidity). They have also been obtained, for the most of the dimensions of the scale, higher scores on self-perception than social perception. This research will improve the work carried out in centers for DI and work to raise awareness.
