dc.description.abstractThis paper describes the test bench validation of an ultracapacitor based excitation booster aimed at improving the fault ride through capability of synchronous generators equipped with bus fed static excitation systems. A test bench based on a 10 kVA synchronous generator has been developed. Tests have demonstrated that the excitation booster is able to improve the fault ride through capability of synchronous generators.en-GB
