Mujeres, Mística y política. La experiencia de Dios que implica y complica

Abstract

Mística y política, ¿pueden ir de la mano? Tras la síntesis magistral de Juan Martín Velasco sobre el fenómeno místico, se presentan en este libro testimonios de mujeres de épocas, países y estados de vida diversos con un denominador común: ser «místicas» que se «implicaron» y «complicaron» la vida. Las beguinas de finales del siglo XIII, Santa Teresa de Jesús, en el siglo XVI, y una laica activista del siglo XX, Madeleine Delbrêl, todas ellas se sintieron habitadas y empoderadas por su experiencia interior y, a pesar de las críticas, ejercieron de una u otra manera una actividad «política» en sentido clásico del término: al servicio del bien común. La experiencia de Dios de estas mujeres, su extraordinaria libertad y su implicación con el mundo en que les tocó vivir suponen todo un estímulo para una espiritualidad feminista liberadora en el siglo XXI.

After the great synthesis of Juan Martin Velasco on the mystical phenomenon, the book presents testimonies of women from different times, countries and states of life with a common denominator: they had a mystical experience and they engaged theirselves. The beguines of the late thirteenth century, St. Teresa of Jesus in the sixteenth century, and a lay activist of the twentieth century, Madeleine Delbrêl, all felt inhabited and empowered by their inner experience and, despite criticism, they had a "political" activity in the classical sense of the term: the service of the common good. The experience of God of these women, their extraordinary freedom and their involvement with the world in which they lived, stimulate us for a liberating feminist spirituality in the XXI century.
