Abstract

El acto de traducir se asocia con frecuencia la metáfora pictórica a lo largo de la historia. Es el caso de El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha (Segunda Parte, LXII). La recurrencia de esta idea podría llevarnos a hablar de mito, si bien, en el fragmento estudiado, el análisis debe dirigirse hacia la naturaleza del símbolo y hacia sus procesos de codificación. El texto traducido evoca la realidad del original, así como la construcción icónica de un universo.

The act of translation is connected to the pictorial metaphor throughout history. Is the case of Cervantes Don Quixote (Second Part, chapter LXII). The presence of pictorial metaphor in the history of translation could suggest the idea of myth. Nevertheless, the fragment mentioned above should be led in semantic terms, in order to analyze the nature of symbols and the codification process. Texts evoke reality and the iconic construction of the universe.
