El Big Data conquista la medicina: propuesta de negocio para el Ministerio de Sanidad

Abstract

Mi trabajo de fin de grado crea una relación entre la Medicina, conocida como tradicional, y las nuevas revoluciones tecnológicas enfocadas en el Big Data.

Por un lado, hemos realizado una introducción a los conceptos más utilizados en el mundo del Big Data y la medicina, tales como Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Genómica, Wearables, entre otros. A partir del estudio de estos conceptos, podemos considerar que nuestro conocimiento en la materia ha incrementado en gran medida.

Por otro lado, hemos estudiado más a fondo cómo el Big Data revoluciona el sector sanitario y da pie a una nueva Medicina de las 5P (preventiva, predictiva, personalizada, participativa y poblacional). A raíz de ello, y del estudio de los avances y los frenos que supone esta unión entre dos sectores opuestos, hemos desarrollado una propuesta de negocio basada en la implantación de un software (ya existente) llamado Savana en el Ministerio de Salud. Esto permitirá, que todos los hospitales de España tengan acceso a una aplicación que pone en común las historias clínicas de todos los pacientes, así como sus diagnósticos, tratamientos, y demás.

En conclusión, este TFG ha resultado ser un estudio propiamente deductivo, en el que hemos incrementado nuestros conocimientos sobre Medicina y Big Data, que resultan esenciales para el mundo al que nos enfrentemos.

My final project creates a relationship between Medicine, known as traditional, and the new technological revolutions focused on Big Data.

On the one hand, we have made an introduction to the concepts most used in the world of Big Data and Medicine, such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Genomics, Wearables, among others. From the study of these concepts, we can consider that our knowledge in the matter has increased to a great extent.

On the other hand, we have studied in more depth how Big Data revolutionizes the health sector and gives rise to a new Medicine of the 5P (preventive, predictive, personalized, participative and pertinent). As a result of this, and of the study of the advances and the brakes that this union between two opposing sectors implies, we have developed a business proposal based on the implementation of a software (already existing) called Savana in the Ministry of Health. This will allow all hospitals in Spain to have access to an application that puts together the clinical histories of all patients, as well as their diagnoses, treatments, and others.

In conclusion, this TFG has turned out to be a properly deductive study, in which we have increased our knowledge about Medicine and Big Data, which are essential for the world we face.
