Abstract

El tabaco en la primera causa de enfermedad y muerte prematura evitable en todo el mundo. En España, alrededor de 50.000 muertes por año son causadas por el consumo de este. El consumo de tabaco en la mujer disminuye la fertilidad, aumentan los accidentes cerebrovasculares y el riesgo de ataques cardiacos. A demás, los efectos que tienen mayor interés son los efectos relacionados con la gestación. Se ha demostrado que el tabaco produce efectos adversos en la mujer embarazada y en su futuro hijo. Entre estos efectos se encuentra: riesgo de infertilidad, incrementa el cáncer de ovario, abortos, muerte súbita del lactante, bajo peso al nacer, etc. Hay muchas mujeres embarazadas que hoy en día no conocen el riesgo que tiene para ella y para su bebé consumir tabaco. Por todo esto, surge la necesidad de informar a la mujer de los efectos perjudiciales del tabaco y de los medios que tiene para ponerle fin.

Smoking in women decrease fertility, increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. To others, the effects that have greater interest are pregnancy-related effects. It has shown that tobacco causes adverse effects on pregnant women and their unborn child. These effects include: increased risk of infertility, cancer of the ovary, miscarriages, sudden infant, under the weight of death at birth, etc. There are many women pregnant today do not know the risk which has for her and her baby to consume tobacco. Thus, it is necessary to inform women of the harmful effects of tobacco and the means to put an end.
