Elaboración del duelo en personas con discapacidad intelectual

Abstract

Existen multitud de artículos referentes al duelo y se hace fácil su comprensión. El problema empieza cuando al duelo se le añade la discapacidad intelectual. Entender o intentar ayudar a las personas con discapacidad intelectual se hace muy complicado cuando ni tan siquiera se para a pensar cómo siente esta población o cómo se les debe tratar, sobre todo siendo personal sanitario. Son muchas las personas que viven con una discapacidad intelectual y que precisan ayuda cuando sufren la pérdida de un ser querido y no saben dónde acudir. Se sienten perdidos y solos con su sufrimiento. Por todo lo anterior, se hace necesaria la participación de personal entendido en el duelo en la discapacidad mental para poder ayudar a esta población.

There are many articles about the duel and becomes easier to understand. The problem begins when the duel is added intellectual disabilities. Understand or try to help people with intellectual disabilities becomes very complicated when not even stop to think and feel this city or as they should be treated, especially being health personnel. Many people living with an intellectual disability and who need help when they suffer the loss of a loved one and do not know where to turn and feel lost and with it alone with their suffering. Given the above, the participation of knowledgeable staff in mourning mental disability to help this population is necessary.
