Jóvenes de origen inmigrante en prisión : perfiles e historias de vida

Abstract

El objetivo principal de esta investigación busca describir el colectivo de jóvenes de origen inmigrante que se encuentran cumpliendo condena en centros penitenciarios de nuestro país, atendiendo especialmente a los proyectos migratorios familiares de los jóvenes y sus posible implicaciones en el origen del delito y a nivel de tratamiento penitenciario. A través de una metodología mixta, cuantitativa y cualitativa, se realiza una aproximación en dos fases a las características de estos jóvenes y sus proyectos migratorios familiares. La estrategia metodológica incluye fuentes directas e indirectas, a través tanto de encuestas y análisis de bases de datos como de entrevistas de carácter cualitativo. Se realiza un análisis comparado con los jóvenes de origen español, así como un análisis intragrupal del colectivo de origen inmigrante en las variables sexo (varón y mujer), tipo de migración (por reagrupación, migración en familia y migración en solitario y todos ellos con detenidos en frontera) y país de origen (República Dominicana, Marruecos, Rumanía y Colombia). La discusión sitúa el hecho migratorio como un factor importante para entender la entrada en prisión de los jóvenes y concluye con algunas orientaciones para la práctica de la intervención penitenciaria con este colectivo.

The main objective of this research is to describe the specific groups of youths with a migrant background who actually are serving a sentence in penitentiaries in our country, attending especially the family migration projects of the youths and their possible involvement in the origin of the crime, and the level of a possible penitentiary treatment. Using a mixt methodology, which should be both quantitative and qualitative, we do an approximation that consists of two stages concerning the characteristics of these young persons and the family migration projects. The methodological strategy involves both direct and indirect sources, performing not only surveys and database analysis, but also interviews of qualitative nature. A specific analysis is performed, comparing them with the youths of Spanish origin, as well as an intra-group analysis of all the individuals with a migrant background taking into account the following aspects; gender (man or woman), type of migration (family reunification, family migration, solitary migration and all of them with border detainees) and country of origin (the Dominican Republic, Marocco, Romania and Colombia. The distance situates the migratory fact as an important factor for understanding the entrance in prisons of the young persons and it concludes with some further guidance for the practice of the penitentiary action with this restricted group.
