La mirada del arte: ¿Una nueva voz crítica en relaciones internacionales?. La crisis de los refugiados Siria a través de la obra de Ai Weiwei y Doris Salcedo

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado propone analizar la respuesta del arte ante la crisis de los refugiados siria, con el objetivo de explorar su potencial comunicador y discursivo. El arte entendido como herramienta de lo político, que busca implicarse en los hechos que acontecen en el mundo que nos ha tocado vivir, reacciona, reflexiona, critica e incluso hace reaccionar al público, será el foco de estudio de este trabajo de investigación. Aunque tradicionalmente las Relaciones Internacional han prestado más atención a los tratados, las normas de Derecho Internacional Público o las cifras que permiten describir la magnitud de los conflictos, el auge de las teorías críticas en su debate teórico, reorientó la disciplina hacia el estudio de la identidad, el lenguaje y los significados intersubjetivos. Este nuevo marco interpretativo permite vincular arte y Relaciones Internacionales si el arte decide entenderse como otra forma de expresión o lenguaje subjetivo capaz de transmitir aquello que las palabras no pueden. Por ello, se explorarán las posibilidades de la disciplina artística como una herramienta crítica que humaniza, frente a la frialdad analítica que predomina en el debate de la disciplina internacional.

This study seeks to examine the art’s response to the Syrian refugee crisis with the aim of exploring its communicative and discursive potential. Art understood as a tool of the political will be the focus of study of this research work. Although International Relations have traditionally paid more attention to treaties, the rules of Public International Law or the figures that describe the magnitude of conflicts, the rise of the critical theories in the theoretical debate, reoriented the discipline towards the study of identity, language and intersubjective meanings. This new interpretative framework allows linking art and International Relations if art is understood as another form of expression or subjective language able to convey what words cannot. For this reason, this research paper explores possibilities of art as a critical and humanizing tool, compared to the analytical coldness that prevails in the debate of the international discipline.
