Los límites y potencialidades de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio

Abstract

En el presente trabajo tiene por objeto analizar los resultados obtenidos tras la llegada del año 2015, fin de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio. Para ello, primeramente, se va a explicar el marco teórico bajo el que se va a asentar el trabajo, así como los conceptos de gobernanza global y globalización, el papel de las Naciones Unidas dentro del sistema internacional en que nos encontramos y la influencia de Amartya Sen en el concepto de desarrollo en dicha institución y base de la agenda de los objetivos. A continuación, se expondrán los antecedentes a la Declaración de los Objetivos del Milenio, basados en diversas conferencias mundiales. En la misma línea, se realizará una explicación de su formulación, así como los elementos positivos y negativos de dicha Declaración. Seguidamente, se examinarán los logros y fracasos obtenidos con la llegada del año 2015, diferenciando los resultados extraídos por regiones tanto para aquellas en desarrollo como para las más desarrolladas. Finalmente se presentarán las conclusiones con todo lo analizado anteriormente, de manera comprensible y que pueda ser útil para futuros estudios e investigaciones.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the results obtained after the arrival of the year 2015, the end of the Millennium Development Goals. Firstly, the theoretical framework under which the work will be based will be explained, as well as the concepts of global governance and globalization, the role of the United Nations within the international system in which we find ourselves and the influence of Amartya Sen in the concept of development in said institution and base of the agenda of the objectives.

Following that, the background to the Declaration of the Millennium Goals, based on various world conferences, will be presented. In the same line, there will be an explanation of its formulation, as well as the positive and negative elements of said Declaration. Then, the achievements and failures obtained with the arrival of the year 2015 will be examined, differentiating the results extracted by regions for both those in development and the most developed ones.

Finally the conclusions will be presented with all the previous analyzations, in an understandable way and that may be useful for future studies and research.
