La violencia contra menores y adolescentes desde un enfoque económico: el caso español

Abstract

Si bien cuando se trata el tema de maltrato infantil se suele pensar en las consecuencias jurídicas y personales que conlleva este tipo de violencia es evidente que prevenirlo y erradicarlo tiene también un componente económico que no se puede olvidar. En el presente trabajo se expone los motivos legales que plantean la necesidad de intervenir contra el maltrato infantil para con posterioridad analizar cuál es la situación existente en España. Desde el análisis de los datos que ofrecen las autoridades, tanto respecto al número de afectados como del gasto dedicado, hasta la necesidad de reorientar la visión que se tiene de los fondos destinados a evitar el maltrato infantil en las siguientes líneas se pretende reflexionar sobre lo que realmente se conoce respecto al maltrato infantil y como, desde un punto de vista económico, se pueden valorar cuestiones que actualmente parecen infravaloradas.

Although the issue of child maltreatment is often thought about the legal and personal consequences of this type of violence, it is clear that preventing and eradicating it also has an economic component that can not be forgotten. This paper presents the legal reasons for the need to intervene against child abuse in order to analyze the situation in Spain. From the analysis of the data provided by the authorities, both regarding the number of affected and the expenditure dedicated, to the need to reorient the vision of the funds to prevent child abuse in the following lines is intended to reflect on what which is really known in relation to child abuse and how, from an economic point of view, issues that currently seem undervalued can be assessed.
