Importancia de la termometría y los cuidados enfermeros: validación del verificador termométrico Versicon (prototipo)

Abstract

En la historia de los cuidados al enfermo, el control de la temperatura ha sido un indicador clave de la presencia de enfermedad en nuestros pacientes. Con la normativa de prohibición del mercurio (año 2009) en los termómetros de uso clínico, se han desarrollado nuevos termómetros de diferentes tipologías que han hecho que surja una desconfianza en el usuario debido a la variabilidad de los resultados obtenidos en la medición de temperatura. Para realizar una práctica clínica diaria con mayor eficacia y eficiencia, deberíamos hacerlos con equipos que hayan sido comprobados metrológicamente si vamos a realizar mediciones. El desarrollo de este proyecto, pretende validar el verificador termométrico Versicon y dar a conocer la importancia de la temperatura y la termometría como indicador principal para los profesionales de enfermería. Este procedimiento aportará a la enfermería una práctica clínica diaria con seguridad en el resultado de la temperatura corporal real, fiable y veraz, y a los pacientes unos cuidados de mayor calidad. El objetivo del estudio es validar el prototipo del verificador termométrico Versicon. Se realizará la medición de la temperatura corporal en arteria temporal, mediante un termómetro infrarrojo sin contacto a 25 pacientes. Será un estudio observacional de validación, descriptivo longitudinal. Se desarrollará en el Centro San Juan de Dios en Ciempozuelos, en las unidades 2 y 3. Participarán 25 pacientes, pertenecientes a las unidades 2 y 3 del Centro San Juan de Dios en Ciempozuelos. Se realizarán dos mediciones de temperatura, una en el turno de mañana y otra en el turno de tarde por paciente. Se procederá a la comprobación de la temperatura del verificador termométrico Versicon al inicio de la medición de temperatura y al finalizar.

In the history of care to the sick person, the temperature control has been a key indicator of the presence of disease in our patients. When the mercury (noble metal) in thermometers (2009) for clinical use was banned by regulation, due to high risk of contamination, we have developed different types of new thermometers wich have caused a distrust in the user due to the variability of the results obtained in the temperature measurement. To perform a daily clinical practice more effectively and efficiently, we should do it with an equipment metrologically proved if we are going to take measurements. The development of this project aims to validate the thermowell verifier Versicon and report the importance of thermometry for nursing. This procedure will provide nursing a daily clinical practice with a safe real result, reliable and accurate temperature. A higher quality care for the patients. The objective of the study is to validate the thermowell Versicon verifier. We will measure the body temperature in the temporal artery, with an infrared non-contact thermometer in 25 patients. It will be an observational validation study, descriptive. It will be carry out at the Mental Health Center San Juan de Dios, in units 2 and 3. 25 patients will participate, who belongs to the units 2 and 3 of the Mental Health Center San Juan de Dios. Two temperature measurements will be taken per patient, one in the morning shift and another one in the afternoon shift. It must be check the temperature of the thermowell verifier Versicon at the beginning and the end of the temperature measurement.
