Dermatitis atópica y fototerapia en adultos. Papel de la enfermería. Evaluación PO-SCORAD

Abstract

En la actualidad el número de casos de dermatitis atópica está incrementando progresivamente, existen determinados tratamientos para aliviar o eliminar sus síntomas. En caso de dermatitis atópica severa en adultos resistente a otros tratamientos, podríamos recurrir a la fototerapia pero ¿Está bien enterada la población que padece esta enfermedad acerca de dicha técnica?, ¿Se obtienen beneficios?, ¿Es segura? Es por ello que se considera importante llevar a cabo una investigación observacional-experimental que evalúe el efecto de dicha técnica sobre diversos parámetros clínicos medibles antes y después de la intervención. Se utilizará para ello dos instrumentos de medida: el DLQI y el novedoso PO-SCORAD. En este contexto, resaltaremos la figura de la enfermera, la cual se encargará de la administración de dicha técnica así como de su evaluación y del control sobre las diversas esferas del individuo, suministrando en todo momento apoyo emocional y psicológico al paciente.

Nowadays, the number of patients suffering from atopic dermatitis is increasing progressively. There are some treatments that help to ease or eliminate its symptoms. If we were talking about severe atopic dermatitis in adults resistant to other treatments, we could use phototherapy but, is population suffering from this illness well aware of this technique? What benefits does it have? Is it safe? For these reasons it is considered important to perform an experimental-observational research that evaluates the effect of this technique about the diverse clinic measurable parameters before and after the intervention. To do so, two measuring instruments, the DLQI and the new PO-SCORAD, will be used. In this context we need to highlight the nurse figure which is responsible for the administration of this technique and its evaluation and control over the diverse spheres of the individual, providing emotional and psychological support to the patient at all times.
