Título : Market reductionism and the transcendent within

The success of Modern science does not necessarily lead to the abandonment of any acknowledgement of the transcendent. Although this seems to be the case in the markedly secular West, we could argue that the process of the Death of God has not happened in the same way in Eastern or Islamic societies. I propose that the reason for this is that the reductionism that reigns triumphant in the West is not derived from the success of the scientific paradigm but from a particularly extreme form of reductionism that I would like to call market reductionism. This instance of reductionism goes beyond materialism. Christians acknowledge a dual reality in God as a transcendent being with an immanent presence in His creation. Our human condition, as a reflection of this, involves a parallel, intertwined fabric of immanent and transcendent dimensions
