Análisis de la posible evolución de las relaciones comerciales de la Unión Europea con los Estados Unidos, especial referencia al caso español.

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la posible evolución de las relaciones comerciales entre la UE y EEUU. Para ello, realiza un análisis paralelo de la UE y de EEUU. Comienza por estudiar la historia de ambas potencias con el fin de comprender mejor los eventos que las han desarrollado y afectado desde su fundación, para después analizar la actualidad socioeconómica y comercial de las mismas. Se adentra en el estudio de datos concretos relativos al comercio exterior y profundiza en el análisis de los tratados de libre comercio (TLC), explicando y demostrando su utilidad. En concreto, el trabajo estudia el nuevo TLC que la UE y EEUU están desarrollando: el tratado de Asociación Transatlántica para el Comercio y la Inversión (ATCI). Tras este análisis y el repaso a la historia de la UE y de EEUU, el trabajo concluye que la firma del tratado ATCI sería muy positiva para el desarrollo y futuro de sus lazos comerciales. Por último, el trabajo ejemplifica el impacto de las relaciones entre la UE y EEUU, y su posible futuro, a través de un país miembro concreto de la UE: España. De esta forma, se muestran los beneficios que un tratado como el ATCI tendrían para un país europeo específico, y se concluye que los TLC-s traen consigo un desarrollo económico y social sólido.

This paper analyses the possible evolution of the trading relationships between the EU and the US. With this objective, this paper conducts a parallel analysis of the EU and the US. It starts by studying the history of both unions of states in order to better understand the key events that have helped them develop and that have affected them since they were founded. After this, it analyses the current trading and socioeconomic reality of both. This paper deepens its study in specific data related to foreign trade and Free Trade Agreements (FTA), explaining and demonstrating their usefulness. Specifically, this paper studies the new FTA that the EU and the US are developing: the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). After this analysis, and the review of the history of the EU and the US, this paper concludes that the signing of the TTIP would be very positive for the development and the future of this two world-powers’ economic relationship. Lastly, this paper illustrates the impact of the trading relationships between the EU and the US, and their possible future, through one specific member country of the EU: Spain. Thus, the benefits that an agreement like the TTIP would bring to a concrete European country are shown, and it is concluded that FTA-s generate strong economic and social development.
