Los cambios sociopolíticos internacionales y la necesidad de ajuste interno y externo de la Unión Europea

Abstract

Este trabajo pretende analizar los retos a los que se enfrenta actualmente la Unión Europea, tanto en el ámbito político, como en el social y económico. En primer lugar, se explicarán el origen y las características de la Unión. Seguidamente, se profundizará en las principales dificultades que están afectando a la UE: las consecuencias de la crisis financiera de 2008, la amenaza de una ralentización económica, la guerra comercial entre Estados Unidos y China, la crisis que están sufriendo los países emergentes, el auge del populismo, el Brexit, y el problema de la inmigración masiva a países miembros. Posteriormente, se examinarán las medidas que se están llevando a cabo por parte de las instituciones europeas para mejorar y potenciar la Unión, y finalmente se hará un análisis macroeconómico, observando la evolución desde hace 5 años hasta el momento actual de los principales indicadores económicos, que darán una visión más técnica de la situación de la UE y de sus países miembros.

This paper aims to analyze the challenges that the European Union is currently facing, both in the political, social and economic spheres. Firstly, we will explain the origin and characteristics of the Union. Subsequently, we will look at the main difficulties that are affceting the EU: the consequences of the 2008 financial crisis, the threat of an economic slowdown, the US-China trade war, the crisis that emerging countries are suffering, the rise of populism, the Brexit, and the problem of mass immigration to member countries. Thereafter, we will examine the measures that are being carried out by the European institutions to improve and strengthen the Union, and finally we will make a macroeconomic analysis, observing the evolution from 5 years ago to the current moment of the main economic indicators, which will give a more technical vision of the situation of the EU and its member countries.
