PostData, Un curso de Introducción a la Estadística

Abstract

Este libro nace de las clases que impartimos desde hace varios años en cursos de Estadística en los Grados en Biología, Biología Sanitaria y Química de la Universidad de Alcalá. En él nos esforzamos en presentar la Estadística dotándola de un "relato", de un hilo argumental. En particular tratamos de no contar la solución antes de que el lector entienda cuál es el problema. Nuestro interés en este libro, no es ser rigurosos en el sentido matemático, sino llegar al concepto, a la idea que dio lugar al formalismo y que, a veces, queda oculta en el proceso de formalización. A la vez, no renunciamos al formalismo necesario para mostrar algunas de esas ideas, incluso las que se suelen considerar "avanzadas" para un curso de introducción a la Estadística. This book is born from the classes that we taught for several years in Statistics courses in the Degrees in Biology, Sanitary Biology and Chemistry of the University of Alcalá. In it we strive to present the statistics by giving it a "story", a plot thread. In particular, we try not to tell the solution before the reader understands what the problem is. Our interest in this book is not to be rigorous in the mathematical sense, but to arrive at the concept, at the idea that gave rise to the formalism and that, sometimes, is hidden in the formalization process. At the same time, we do not renounce the necessary formalism to show some of these ideas, even those that are usually considered "advanced" for an introductory course in Statistics.
