El maltrato en personas mayores : un problema oculto con gran relevancia

Abstract

El presente trabajo de fin de grado del grado en trabajo social trata sobre los malos tratos, especialmente en la tercera edad. La elaboración de este trabajo fin de grado tiene como finalidad describir la situación de los malos tratos a personas de la tercera edad en sus diferentes ámbitos en España. Para ello se llevará a cabo un trabajo de naturaleza descriptiva de metodología documental en el cual se profundizará sobre la conceptualización del maltrato a personas mayores, el trabajo social como herramienta para abordar los malos tratos dirigidos a este colectivo y la intervención profesional que se deberá llevar a cabo. Con la realización de este trabajo se puede afirmar que el fenómeno de los malos tratos a personas mayores es un hecho y evitarlo, camuflarlo o no darle la importancia que requiere dificulta su prevención y su intervención.

The present end-of-degree work in the social work degree deals with ill-treatment, especially in the elderly. The purpose of this final degree project is to describe the situation of mistreatment of elderly people in their different areas in Spain. For this purpose, a descriptive work of documentary methodology will be carried out in which the conceptualization of elder abuse will be deepened, social work as a tool to address the mistreatment directed to this group and the professional intervention that should be carried out finished. With the realization of this work it can be said that the phenomenon of mistreatment of elderly people is a fact and to avoid it, to camouflage it or not to give it the importance that it requires makes its prevention and intervention more difficult.
