Transfusiones de sangre en contextos de emergencia. Estudio de caso : terremoto de Nepal, Abril de 2015

Abstract

El presente escrito trata de explicar qué ocurrió con el sistema de transfusión de sangre en Nepal, durante el terremoto ocurrido en Abril de 2015. Para ello se ha realizado una investigación bibliográfica sobre los artículos científicos más destacados sobre el tema, así como una búsqueda sobre la política sobre sangre existente en este país. Además, este artículo muestra datos relevantes a nivel mundial sobre transfusiones de sangre y catástrofes naturales, así como otros ejemplos de lo ocurrido con el sistema transfusional en otros desastres naturales.

This article tries to explain what happened to the blood transfusion service in Nepal, during the aerthqueake that ocurred in April 2015. For this purpose, a bibliographical investigation was carried out on the most outstanding scientific articles on the subject, as well as a search on the existing blood policy in this country. In addition, this article shows globally relevant data on blood transfusions and natural catastrophes, as well as other examples of what happened to the transfusion services in other natural disasters.
