Educación sexual en personas con discapacidad

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo se ha centrado en la persona discapacitada y cómo afecta en ella la educación sexual. Se han recogido datos de diversos estudios y artículos para comprender todos los puntos de vista y todos los resultados obtenidos de investigaciones acerca del tema de interés. Las personas con discapacidad tienen deseos sexuales, deseos de casarse y tener su propia familia, deseos de ser autónomo para tomar sus propias decisiones y para manejar su propia salud. Normalmente las personas con discapacidad reciben mucha menos información acerca de educación sobre salud sexual que la población general, lo cual hace que tengan mucho desconocimiento acerca del tema en cuestión, aparte de que se exponen a riesgos por no conocer los mismos. Con una educación en salud sexual de calidad y adaptada a sus necesidades y capacidades estaremos contribuyendo a aumentar sus conocimientos y a evitar ciertos riesgos a los que se exponen por dicho desconocimiento.

The following work is focused on disabled people and how sexual education affect them.

Data from various studies and articles were collected to understand all the different points of view and all the results obtained from different studies done on the topic of interest. People with disabilities have sexual desires, wish to marry and have their own family and they would like to be autonomous to make their own decisions and to manage their own health. Normally, people with disabilities receive much less information about sexual health education than the general population, which causes them to have a great lack of knowledge about this issue what increases their exposure to risks because they don't know about them. With quality sexual education, which is adapted to the needs and abilities of handicapped people, we will be contributing to increase their knowledge in the topic,and thus, to help them avoiding the risks caused by the lack of knowledge in sex-related topics.
