Errores preanalíticos en el laboratorio por acción directa del personal de enfermería

Abstract

El Hospital Infanta Cristina de Parla cuenta en el año 2017 con un 7,6% de errores preanalíticos. Es el personal de enfermería el encargado de la extracción, el responsable de estos errores y donde se va a realizar la intervención, pretendiendo así disminuir dichos errores en el periodo de un año. Se han analizado los datos reales del Hospital Infanta Cristina y se han obtenido los siguientes porcentajes de errores: muestra insuficiente para pruebas solicitadas 3,2%, muestra coagulada, entre las que se encuentran hematología, coagulación y gasometría, 6,5%, muestra para coagulación mal enrasada 8,8%, probable trasvase de tubo EDTA a tubo suero 0,2%, probable hemodilución de la muestra remitida 0,9 % y hemocultivos contaminados 7,67%.

The Hospital Infanta Cristina, in Parla, has a 7.6 % pre-analytical error rate. It's the nursing staff who is in charge of the collection, where the interventions are taking place and is resposible for those errors, the goal being reducing them in a year's time. Real data from the Hospital Infanta Cristina has been analyzed and the following percentages have been obtained: insufficient sample volume for the test ordered, 3.2 %; clotted sample, in which there's hematology, coagulation and gasometry, 6.5 %; incorrectly made up to volume coagulation samples, 8.8 %; possible transfer from the EDTA tube to the serum separator tube, 0.2 %; possible hemodilution of the received sample, 0.9 %; and contaminated blood cultures 7.67 %.
