Úlceras por presión en pacientes hospitalizados

Abstract

Las ulceras por presión en los pacientes encamados uno de los principales riesgos a contraer por su incapacidad a moverse de manera independiente. Este tipo de lesión está a la orden del día en cada hospital en el servicio de medicina interna. Es un proceso muy complicado tanto para el personal de enfermería que tiene que realizar un papel importante ya que tiene que poner todos sus conocimientos para ayudar al paciente para que sea más llevadero esa larga estancia en el hospital. Por eso los profesionales sanitarios, en este caso de enfermería, deben tener unos conocimientos necesarios, conocer la prevención de los riesgos, saber cuidar la lesión con el tratamiento adecuado y realizar los cuidados adecuados en el trascurso que el paciente este ingresado. En este estudio determinaremos cuáles son las medidas más eficaces para prevenir la aparición de úlceras por presión en pacientes encamados y en caso de tenerlas cual es el tratamiento más eficaz para su curación. En cuanto a la metodología, es un estudio observacional descriptivo longitudinal basado en pacientes encamados que padecen ulceras por presión en la unidad de Medicina Interna del hospital Carlos III. Este estudio piloto es de tipo descriptivo, y en su elaboración se tienen en cuenta tres grandes áreas de intervención. Los resultados de este estudio se presentan en función del perfil del paciente, el profesional que realiza los cuidados y la evaluación que tendrá el paciente en los días de su estancia. El fin del estudio será de ayuda a los protocolos y recomendaciones del hospital a estudiar, en centros sanitarios y para otros hospitales que necesiten mejorarlo. Para abordar de manera adecuada el cuidado de las ulceras por presión, ya que ha sido positivo el estudio.

Pressure ulcers in bedridden patients one of the main risks to contract due to their inability to move independently. This type of injury is the order of the day in each hospital in the internal medicine service. It is a very complicated process for both the nursing staff who have to play an important role since they have to put all their knowledge to help the patient to make that long stay in the hospital more bearable. Therefore, health professionals, in this case of nursing, must have the necessary knowledge, know the prevention of risks, know how to take care of the injury with the appropriate treatment and perform the appropriate care during the course of the patient's admission. In this study we will determine which are the most effective measures to prevent the onset of pressure ulcers in bedridden patients and in case of having them which is the most effective treatment for their healing. As for the methodology, it is a longitudinal descriptive observational study based on bedridden patients suffering from pressure ulcers in the Internal Medicine unit of the Carlos III hospital. This pilot study is of a descriptive nature, and three large areas of intervention are taken into account in its preparation. The results of this study are presented according to the patient's profile, the professional who performs the care and the evaluation that the patient will have on the days of their stay. The purpose of the study will be to help the protocols and recommendations of the hospital to be studied, in health centers and for other hospitals that need to improve it. To adequately address the care of pressure ulcers, since the study has been positive.
