Futuros Retos del Sistema Educativo Español

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación busca identificar aquellos desafíos futuros a los que se enfrentará el Sistema Educativo Español, responsable de formar a los jóvenes y, ahora también, más que nunca, a los adultos, transmitiéndoles los conocimientos teóricos y prácticos que el mercado laboral y la sociedad demandan. Para ello, comienza analizando las competencias actuales del sistema. Es decir, se identifican las principales fortalezas y debilidades que presenta hoy en día, basándose en los resultados obtenidos en pruebas realizadas a la población, así como en indicadores elaborados por la UE y la OCDE que miden distintos ámbitos de la enseñanza, como pueden ser el índice de abandono escolar o la participación de la población adulta en la formación permanente. Además, estos indicadores permiten comparar las competencias de los sistemas en los distintos países. Tras haber diagnosticado la situación presente y determinado los puntos de mejora, se concluye presentando propuestas que permitan al Sistema Educativo perfeccionarse y así, ofrecer una enseñanza de mayor calidad, traduciéndose en individuos más cualificados, que permitan el desarrollo económico y social de la nación.

This study aims to map those future challenges which will be faced by the Spanish Educational System, responsible for training young people and, now, more than ever, also adults, while transmitting the theoretical and practical knowledge that the labor market and society demand. In order to do so, it begins by analyzing the current competencies of the system. In other words, the main strengths and weaknesses that it presents today are identified, based on the results obtained in tests carried out on the Spanish population, as well as on indicators developed by the EU and the OECD that measure the different areas of education, such as be the school dropout rate or the participation of the adult population in lifelong learning. Furthermore, these indicators make it possible to compare the 4

competencies of educational systems among different countries. After having diagnosed the present situation and determined the points for improvement, we conclude by presenting proposals that will allow the Educational System to improve and thus offer higher quality teaching, translating into more qualified individuals, which will foster the economic and social development of the nation.
