Financiando el presente: Los bonos verdes en España

Abstract

El presente trabajo lleva a cabo un estudio de los bonos verdes, desde un punto de vista tanto teórico como práctico, tratándose de un instrumento financiero novedoso que apoya proyectos de carácter medioambiental. El mercado de los bonos verdes ha experimentado un incremento exponencial en todo el mundo durante los últimos años. El objetivo de este trabajo es plantear el interés de los bonos verdes como mecanismo alternativo de financiación externa y ofrecer una visión general de su mercado. Tras el detallado análisis del marco teórico, se examina una muestra de elaboración propia de los bonos verdes emitidos en España hasta el 31 de diciembre del 2019. Se pone de manifiesto la alta demanda que existe por este producto, la estandarización de dicho sector y los beneficios que conlleva la emisión de este tipo de renta fija para la entidad emisora y el inversor.

This paper carries out a study of green bonds, from both a theoretical and a practical point of view, which consist of an innovative financial instrument that supports environmental projects. The green bond market has seen an exponential growth around the world during recent years. The aim of this paper is to present the interest of green bonds as an alternative external financing mechanism and to provide an overview of the market. After a detailed analysis of the theoretical framework, a sample of own creation of green bonds issued in Spain until 31st of December 2019 is examined. It highlights the high demand for this product, the standardization of the sector and the benefits of issuing this type of fixed income instrument for the issuing entity and also the investor.
