Análisis sobre la percepción de la figura del intérprete : ¿Es la feminización de la profesión algo negativo?

Abstract

Este trabajo trata de unir dos ideas: feminismo e interpretación. Se presentarán diferentes teorías de estudios de género sobre la situación actual en el plano laboral para después poder abordar el ámbito de la interpretación. Este tema se abrirá con una pequeña introducción para después relacionar ambos campos. El estudio persigue como propósito primordial plantear una hipótesis y ver si la parte práctica puede demostrar que es cierta. Esta parte consta de una encuesta realizada con trece preguntas hechas a hombres intérpretes por una parte y mujeres intérpretes por otra. Estas preguntas reflejarán lo presentado en la parte teórica del trabajo como forma de ver si la feminización del sector tiene algún impacto en el trabajo de los intérpretes o son teorías aplicables a otros campos.

This present project is focused on two main ideas: feminism and interpreting. Several theories on gender studies will be presented, especially regarding work. Afterwards, the interpreting sector will be discussed. This topic starts with a small introduction linking both fields. The main purpose of this study is to suggest a hypothesis in order to determine later whether the practical part of the project proves it. This part consists of a survey with 13 questions for both male and female interpreters. These questions will reflect the above-mentioned in the theoretical part of the study. This will be a way of knowing whether the feminization of the interpreting sector has any impact on interpreters’ work or these are mere theories applicable only to other fields.
