Avances de los derechos del colectivo LGBT en Latinoamérica

Abstract

Desde las perspectiva de las Ciencias Sociales y las Relaciones Internacionales, se ha tratado de estudiar los factores que favorecen al aumento de los derechos del colectivo LGBT en Latinoamérica, y en el mundo. En este trabajo tratamos de hacer un análisis crítico a las principales corrientes, las cuales defienden, cada una, que factores como mejoras económicas, una democracia más sólida, movimientos sociales fuertes o una sociedades con menor influencia de las religiones, son imprescindible para obtener más derechos LGBT. Haciendo un análisis político, económico y social de los países latinoamericanos, y posteriormente la situación actual de los derechos de esta colectivo en estos países, con el fin de cotejado la dependencia de la obtención derechos LGBT con estas variables. Llegando finalmente, a la conclusión de que las normas mecanicistas no funcionan, en cuanto a establecer patrones determinados sobre esta cuestión en la región. No encontramos una única vía en la obtención de estos derechos, la obtención de estos en la región se ha dado a través de distintos organismos y a destiempo. Igualmente, existen factores que influye positiva y negativamente a aumentar los derechos del colectivo LGBT, pero esto no son una norma, aunque si podemos apreciar que un bienestar medio de la sociedad, es una condición necesaria, pero no suficiente.

Both, the Social Sciences, and International Relations studies, has attempt has to create a model of factors that favour the increase of LGBT rights in Latin America, as in the world. In this work we try to make a critical analysis of the main trends in this issue. Those trends advocate that factors such as economic improvements, a more solid democracy, strong social movements, or societies with less influence from religions, are essential for obtaining more LGBT rights. Taking into account the political, economic and social analysis of the Latin American that we have done, we latter studies the current situation of LGBT rights there, which aimed was to compare the dependence of obtaining LGBT rights with these variables. Finally, it concludes that mechanistic rules do not work in terms of establishing specific patterns on this issue, in the region. We did not find a single way of obtaining these rights; they were obtained in the region through different institutions and at different times. Similarly, there are factors that have a positive and negative influence on increasing the rights of the LGBT community, but this is not a norm, although we can see that the average level of well-being in society is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition.
