Relación entre la Revolución Islámica Iraní y la Cuarta Ola de Terrorismo: Una comparativa entre Hezbolá y la Guardia Revolucionaria Iraní

Abstract

La Revolución Islámica Iraní de 1979 y el consiguiente régimen teocrático han tenido una gran influencia en la organización libanesa Hezbolá, proporcionando apoyo armamentístico y económico, además de sirviendo como fuente de inspiración en el plano ideológico. En el presente trabajo se parte de la teoría presentada por Rapoport sobre las cuatro olas de terrorismo para trata de conectar la Revolución Iraní con la última ola. Para alcanzar dicho objetivo se analiza, mediante una metodología comparativa, la relación entre la Guardia Revolucionaria Iraní y Hezbolá. Hezbolá, aparte de ser un partido político y un importante agente social en Líbano, ha sido considerado también como uno de los grupos terroristas más importantes de la cuarta ola de terrorismo al servir como inspiración a otros grupos y tener grandes capacidades. Por su parte, la Guardia Revolucionaria es una organización paramilitar iraní, creada tras el triunfo de la Revolución, controlada por el Ayatolá. De esta manera se pretende determinar si la Revolución Islámica Iraní ha sido una de las causas que provocaron el desarrollo de la cuarta ola de terrorismo.

The Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979 and the subsequent theocratic regime have had a great influence on the Lebanese organization Hezbollah, providing arms and economic support, as well as serving as a source of ideological inspiration. This paper will be based on the theory presented by Rapoport about the four waves of terrorism and will try to connect the Iranian Revolution with the last wave. To achieve this goal, this paper will analyze the relationship between the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah through a comparative methodology. Hezbollah, apart from being a political party and an important social agent in Lebanon, it has also been considered one of the most important terrorist groups in the fourth wave of terrorism, serving as an inspiration to other groups and having great capabilities. Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards are an Iranian paramilitary organization, created after the triumph of the Revolution, controlled by the Ayatollah. Therefore, the intention of this paper is to determine if the Iranian Islamic Revolution has been one of the causes that helped in the development of the fourth wave of terrorism.
