Los servicios de una ciudad inteligente : Smart Cities

Abstract

Este trabajo discute una de las aplicaciones más interesantes del Big Data en nuestra sociedad: las Smart Cities. Comienza con una introducción del concepto de Big Data, los tipos de datos existentes y la gestión de éstos. A continuación, muestra ejemplos de aplicación del Big Data en diferentes materias.

Una vez expuesta la utilidad del Big Data en el mundo actual, se centra en la aplicación del Big Data para las Smart Cities, que es el tema principal de este trabajo. El analisis, parte de la necesidad de las Smart Cities en la sociedad actual, considerando las competencias de los ayuntamiento de ciudades españolas, y el alcance y ventajas del concepto de Smart City.

Una vez definidos los servicios en los que puede intervenir el Ayuntamiento de una ciudad española, el trabajo se centra en discutir las iniciativas disponibles en cada servicio para definir la Smart City perfecta. Este análisis incluye ejemplos de ciudades que ya han implementado alguno de estos procesos o iniciativas en su gestión. Pretende obtener una idea clara de cómo el modelo Smart City afecta a cada uno de los servicios en los que interviene.

This essay explains one of the most interesting applications of Big Data in our current society: Smart Cities. It firsts introduces the term of Big Data, with an analysis of the concept itself, the types of data and its management by a corporation. Afterwards, it provides some examples of the application of Big Data to different issues.

The essay then focuses on the application of Big Data for the development of Smart Cities, which is its primary topic. It starts by analyzing the need for Smart Cities in our current society, the main competences that the city council has in Spain and the scope and benefits of the Smart City proposal.

Once the services in which a Spanish city council can intervene are clear, it analyzes the possible initiatives for each service to define how a perfect Smart City would be. To do this the essay includes examples of cities that have already implemented some of these processes or initiatives in their management. This allows for an overview on how a Smart City affects each of the services in which it intervenes.
