Equinoterapia como método de inclusión en la Educación Infantil

Abstract

Para desarrollar la equinoterapia debemos partir de la idea de las primeras relaciones entre seres humanos y animales, que ya comienzan en la Prehistoria. Con el paso del tiempo ha evolucionado hasta el desarrollo de las Terapias Asistidas con Animales, la equinoterapia entre ellas. Este método terapéutico alternativo utiliza al caballo para producir beneficios en las diferentes áreas del desarrollo. El siguiente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo, mediante una encuesta, estudiar e indagar en la equinoterapia, así como los beneficios que ofrece a los alumnos de Educación Infantil. Para ello, se basa en las diferentes áreas del desarrollo (cognitivo, emocional, motriz y social) y las compara con la Ley Orgánica de Educación 2/2006 de 3 de mayo. Además, con el feedback de los profesionales encuestados se pretende valorar el uso de esta terapia como herramienta de inclusión en los centros educativos. Los resultados obtenidos tras la encuesta realizada a profesionales que imparten esta terapia, se pueden extraer las siguientes conclusiones: una notable mejoría en el área motórica, social, cognitiva y emocional en los alumnos de Educación Infantil, destacando entre ellas la emocional y la motórica. Finalmente, se crean una serie de propuestas que buscan incluir y fomentar la equinoterapia en los centros educativos o informar sobre ella, para que de esta manera, las familias tengan conocimiento sobre los beneficios que aporta a esta etapa.

In order to develop equinotherapy, we should start working on the idea that outlines of the first sign of the relation between human beings and animals, which comes from prehistorical ages. Over time, this idea has become into what we know nowadays as Animal Assisted Therapies, equinotherapy among them. This therapeutic method uses horses to produce benefits in different development areas. The following research work’s main objective, using a survey, is the study and inquire about equinotherapy and the benefits it provides to students in Infant Education. It is based on the different development areas (cognitive, emotional, motorial and social) and comparing them with objectives stablished by the Organic Law of Education 2/2006 from 3rd of May. Furthermore, with the feedback provided by the survey respondents, it is pretended to value the use of this therapy as an inclusion tool in schools. The results obtained from the survey filled by different professionals who give equinotherapy classes, we can extract the following conclusions: a notable improvement in the motorial, social, cognitive and emotional areas in Infant Education students, highlighting among them the emotional and motor areas. Finally, we have created some proposals with the aim of including and promoting equinotherapy in schools, or just to provide information about it, in order to make families know the benefits it brings to this stage of childhood.
