Estudio observacional: Prevalencia de los problemas de salud que ocasiona el bajo peso en gestantes

Abstract

El bajo peso en gestantes al inicio del embarazo, determinado por el Índice de Masa Corporal, es el causante de futuros problemas para la gestante y el futuro recién nacido. No existe evidencia científica de este problema en España por lo que resulta interesante su estudio. Por ello se realizará un estudio descriptivo, a lo largo de 1 año, en la consulta de la matrona en un centro de Salud concreto de Villa de Vallecas, con el objetivo de identificar la prevalencia de estas gestantes en esa misma zona. Conocer esta prevalencia, aumentará la información sobre este tipo de pacientes y permitirá al personal de enfermería, en concreto a las matronas, a abordar de mejor manera el tema.

The low weight in pregnant women at the beginning of pregnancy, determined by the Body Mass Index, is the cause of future problems for the pregnant woman and the future newborn. There is no scientific evidence of this problem in Spain so it is interesting to study. For this reason, a descriptive study will be carried out, over a period of one year, at the midwife´s consultation in a specific health centre in Villa de Vallecas, with the aim of identifying the incidence of these pregnant women in the same area. Knowing this incidence will increase information about this type of patients and will allow nursing staff, specially midwifes, to better address the issue.
