Ética teológica de lo artificial

Abstract

La actividad artificial sondea la frontera misma de la reproducción y sexualidad, la vida y muerte, lo terapéutico y la mejora humana. Dicha actividad modifica nuestra percepción del mundo, la interpretación de la realidad y cómo nos situamos existencialmente. La progresiva intervención humana en las áreas de anticoncepción, reproducción artificial, genética, muerte con dignidad y mejora humana en el desarrollo de la civilización, no se puede separar de la preocupación moral por el deterioro del mundo y de la calidad de vida de gran parte de la humanidad. Está de fondo la antropología, el sentido de la finalidad humana y la conciencia de límite. La investigación distingue cinco momentos en la visión de lo artificial en la historia de Occidente y reconoce principios y criterios de moralidad que han jugado un papel importante en el uso de medios. La historicidad es el principal eje de análisis en lo que respecta a la cuestión de lo artificial y ha facilitado reconocer una probable trasposición de un principio tomasiano del área de la economía al de la sexualidad y reproducción. Ha llegado el momento, quizá, de que la teología moral vaya más allá de las categorías sujeto-objeto y piense, realmente, la acción humana artificial en nuestra sociedad y cultura. En base a los resultados obtenidos, las conexiones intertextuales de antropología en la literatura sapiencial bíblica, los principios de la vida moral en la Tradición viva y las orientaciones sapienciales del Magisterio, el quehacer teológico de lo artificial traza tres líneas antropológicas de la actividad del artífice, fruto de la puesta en práctica de los nuevos modos de hacer ciencia.

Artificial activity probes the very frontier of reproduction and sexuality, life and death, the therapeutic and human enhancement. This activity modifies our perception of the world, the interpretation of reality and how we stand existentially. Progressive human intervention in the areas of contraception, artificial reproduction, genetics, dignity in death and human enhancement in civilization, cannot be separated from the moral concern for the deterioration of the world and the quality of life of a large portion of humanity. Thus, anthropology, the sense of human purpose and the awareness of limit are its background. The research distinguishes five moments in the vision of the artificial in Western history and recognizes morality principles and criteria that have played an important role in the use of means. Historicity is the main axis of analysis in regard to the question of the artificial and has made it easier to recognize a probable transposition of a thomasian principle from the area of economics to that of sexuality and reproduction. Time has come, perhaps, for moral theology to go beyond the subject-object categories and really think of artificial human action in our society and culture. Based on the results obtained in this thesis, which are anthropological intertextual connections in biblical sapiential literature, the principles of moral life in the living Tradition and sapiental orientations of the Magisterium, the theological work of the artificial traces three anthropological lines of activity of the artificer, due to the implementation of the new ways of doing science.
