Mujeres en 'Ndrangheta:¿víctimas o necesarias?

Abstract

Se pretende con este trabajo acercar al lector a la realidad que viven las mujeres en la ‘Ndrangheta, siendo estas tanto víctimas como necesarias en una organización criminal cuyas dimensiones no dejan de crecer. Se explora el rol desempeñado en diferentes tareas, sus posiciones en la escala de liderazgo, y su forma de pertenencia a la organización; así como la evolución que ha sufrido su papel a lo largo de la historia, y la relación que esta transición tiene con ciertos modelos sociales. Se trata la importancia en su papel como educadoras de los hijos, y el sufrimiento por el que deben pasar si deciden abandonar la organización. Se muestra la dualidad entre pertenecer a un entorno delictivo y ser precisamente víctimas de este. A través del análisis de casos también se exploran las dificultades de ser mujer en un mundo de hombres, y la superación de diferentes obstáculos una vez que logran entrar en el programa de protección de testigos.

The aim of this paper is to bring closer to the reader how ‘Ndrangheta women live trapped between the role of victims and needed people within the walls of an expanding criminal organization. Women role played in different tasks, their positions on the leadership scale, and their belonging to the organization are explored; as well as the evolution that its role has undergone throughout history, and the relationship that this transition has with historical social models. It deals with the importance of their role as educators of their children, and the suffering they must go through if they decide to leave the organization. The duality between belonging to a criminal environment and being victims of it, is shown. Through the analysis of cases, the difficulties of being a woman in a men world are also explored, and the overcoming of different obstacles once they manage to enter the witness protection program.
