La mujer palestina en la resistencia pacífica : oportunidades y desafíos

Abstract

El conflicto palestino-israelí lleva en curso siete décadas, y sigue preocupando no solo a la población directamente afectada, sino a toda la comunidad internacional. La población palestina ha resistido el conflicto y los avances del Estado de Israel mayoritariamente mediante una resistencia pacífica. La mujer palestina ha ocupado y sigue ocupando un rol importante en la resistencia civil de su nación. El objetivo de este trabajo es pues analizar el papel de la mujer palestina en esta resistencia, así como qué efecto tiene este papel sobre la sociedad palestina en general. Este trabajo se sostiene metodológicamente sobre una revisión bibliográfica de diversos trabajos de actualidad sobre la mujer palestina y la resistencia civil. Se han analizado conclusiones y tendencias aparentes en los trabajos, con el objetivo de generar una imagen veraz sobre la situación de la mujer palestina. La resistencia civil, por su naturaleza, es inclusiva y permite la participación de la mujer en la misma. La mujer palestina sufre una doble opresión, por el contexto patriarcal en el que se mueve, y por la amenaza constante que supone el conflicto con Israel. las mujeres juegan un papel primordial en la resistencia civil, pero no logran todavía superar la exclusión política y otras privaciones de derechos y libertades que su contexto les impone.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been ongoing for seven decades and continues to be of concern not only to the population directly affected, but to the entire international community. The Palestinian population has resisted the conflict and the advances of the State of Israel mostly through peaceful resistance. Palestinian women have played and continue to play an important role in the civil resistance of their nation. The aim of this paper is therefore to analyze the role of Palestinian women in this resistance, as well as what effect this role has on Palestinian society in general. This paper is methodologically based on a literature review of various current works on Palestinian women and civil resistance. Conclusions and trends apparent in the works have been analyzed, with the aim of generating a true picture of the situation of Palestinian women. Civil resistance, by its nature, is inclusive and allows for women's participation in it. Palestinian women are doubly oppressed by the patriarchal context in which they live and by the constant threat posed by the conflict with Israel. Women play a central role in civil resistance, but they have not yet managed to overcome the political exclusion and other deprivations of rights and freedoms that their context imposes on them.
