Los países del Golfo y su papel en el conflicto Israelí-Palestino.

Abstract

El presente trabajo de fin de grado se enmarca en el conflicto entre Israel y Palestina que se remonta a finales de los años 40 del siglo pasado. En sus orígenes, este conflicto enfrentaba a Israel, por un lado, y a los países árabes, por otro. No obstante, las posturas de muchos países árabes han ido variando. Entre los países árabes cobran una importancia singular los países del Golfo Pérsico. Esto se debe a su cercanía al área del conflicto, a sus principios religiosos y culturales y a sus elevados recursos, que les han permitido ejercer una influencia en la región por encima de lo que justifica su población y tamaño de territorio en la mayoría de los casos. Los recientes acontecimientos en materia de reconocimiento oficial del Estado de Israel por parte de algunos países del Golfo, con el apoyo de Estados Unidos, subrayan la importancia de la región del Golfo en el desarrollo y futura resolución del conflicto.

This paper is framed in the conflict between Israel and Palestine, which dates back to the end of the 1940s. In its origins, this conflict confronted Israel, on the one hand, and the Arab countries, on the other. However, the positions of many Arab countries have shifted. Among the Arab countries, the Persian Gulf countries are of singular importance. This is due to their proximity to the conflict area, their religious and cultural principles and their high level of resources, which have allowed them to exert influence in the region above what accounts for its population and size of territory in most cases. Recent developments in the official recognition of the State of Israel by some Gulf countries, with the support of the United States, underscore the importance of the Gulf region in the development and future resolution of the conflict.
