La radicalización de las mujeres en Europa Occidental

Abstract

Los últimos ataques terroristas yihadistas llevados a cabo por la organización terrorista Estado Islámico (EI) en Europa ponen de manifiesto que el terrorismo sigue siendo una amenaza para el continente y que todavía queda mucho por hacer para combatirlo. En consecuencia, llama la atención el gran número de occidentales que decide radicalizarse y es captado por dicho grupo para, finalmente, desplazarse a Siria. En concreto, el número de mujeres occidentales radicalizadas ha aumentado en los últimos años. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo consiste en analizar si la edad y otros rasgos de los perfiles de algunas mujeres de Europa Occidental las hace más atractivas para la radicalización y captación del grupo terrorista Estado Islámico. Para ello, a lo largo de este estudio, se investigará sobre las características de estas mujeres, las causas y motivaciones que les llevan a radicalizarse y las actividades que desempeñan dentro del grupo terrorista entre otras cuestiones.

The latest jihadist terrorist attacks perpetrated by the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization in Europe show that terrorism is a threat to the continent and there is still a lot to be done in order to combat it. Consequently, the high number of Westerners who decide to radicalize and are attracted by this group to eventually travel to Syria is striking. Specifically, the number of radicalized Western women has increased in recent years. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze whether the age and other features which some Western European women have make them more attractive for the radicalization and recruitment of the Islamic State terrorist group. In order to achieve this matter, it will be analyzed throughout this study these women’s features, their causes and motivations to radicalize and the activities they carry out within the terrorist group, among other issues.
