Derechos humanos en la Cuba revolucionaria : un análisis del estado de los derechos políticos en Cuba durante las últimas tres décadas

Abstract

Han pasado más de sesenta años desde la victoria de la Revolución Cubana. Desde entonces, el carácter irrevocable del sistema se ha protegido a toda costa, limitando y reprimiendo prácticamente todas las formas de disenso. En los últimos años se han producido importantes cambios en el plano económico, fruto de una mayor apertura del país, lo que podría indicar cambios a nivel social y político. Sin embargo, los altos números de denuncias de violaciones de derechos humanos e innumerables testimonios indican que el Gobierno cubano sigue reprimiendo cualquier tipo de disenso o reivindicación social. El presente trabajo de investigación analiza el nivel de garantía de los derechos políticos durante las últimas tres décadas en el país, con especial atención a la libertad de expresión, tanto en el plano legal, estudiando las Constituciones de 1976 y 2019, como en la práctica, mediante una revisión de testimonios y hechos recogidos de diversas fuentes.

More than sixty years have passed since the victory of the Cuban Revolution. Since then, the irrevocable nature of the system has been protected at all costs, limiting and repressing practically all forms of dissent. In recent years there have been important changes in the economic plane as a result of the greater openness of the country, which could indicate changes at the social and political level. However, the high numbers of complaints of human rights violations and innumerable testimonies indicate that the Cuban government continues to repress any type of dissent or social claim. This research paper analyzes the level of guarantee of political rights during the last three decades in the country, with special attention on freedom of expression, through an analysis in the legal sphere, studying the Constitutions of 1976 and 2019, as well as in practice, through a review of testimonies and facts collected by various sources.
