Obesidad y sobrepeso

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es, en primer lugar, poner de manifiesto los problemas que acarrea padecer obesidad tanto a nivel físico como psicológico ya que, las consecuencias fisiológicas que implica esta enfermedad trascienden al ámbito social. Asimismo, es preciso reconocer la existencia de una compleja etiología de la obesidad para favorecer a la reducción del estigma del peso y las consecuencias negativas derivadas de esta condición. Se pretende reflejar la realidad de la discriminación por obesidad que ocurre en nuestra sociedad, que lejos de ayudar a las personas que sufren esta enfermedad, se les excluye de múltiples áreas (laboral, educativa, sanitaria etc.), limitando su desarrollo personal y disminuyendo su calidad de vida y bienestar. Por ultimo, se ha creído conveniente destacar la diferenciación que existe con respecto al género, ya que, son las mujeres las más perjudicadas en este tipo de discriminación.

The aim of this report is, in first place, to hightlight the physical and psychological problems that suffering from obesity causes. Physiological consecuences that this disease implies transcends the social sphere. Likewise, it is necessary to recognize the existence of a complex etiology that causes obesity to favour the reduction of the stigma of weight and the negative consequences derived from this condition. The study intends to reflect the obesity discrimination that occurs in our society, that far from helping people who suffer from this disease, they are being excluded from multiple areas (labour, educative, health, etc). This limit their personal development and decrease their quality life. Finally, it has been deemed convenient to hightlight the differentiation that exists between both genders, since it is woman who are most affected by this type of discrimination.
