Los grandes efectos económicos de una grande competición internacional. Problemática: ¿la copa del mundo 2018 fue rentable para la economía rusa?

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación analiza los principales efectos económicos de una competición internacional, concretamente el Mundial de Fútbol de Rusia 2018. Elegí este tema porque, siendo un gran aficionado al fútbol, quería saber más sobre cómo se organizaba, qué variables había que tener en cuenta para una competición de este tipo. El objetivo principal era averiguar si tenía un impacto real en la economía rusa. Para ello, primero analizamos cómo se organizó teniendo en cuenta diferentes variables. Luego, en una segunda parte, ver cuáles fueron los resultados de esta competición para el país, teniendo en cuenta los efectos económicos, para ver si los beneficios se distribuyeron por igual entre las ciudades organizadoras. En este largo estudio hemos visto que hay que tener en cuenta factores como la política, el medio ambiente, la sociedad o incluso las asociaciones. También me hizo darme cuenta de que también teníamos que confiar en los diversos efectos económicos, que era muy difícil predecir los beneficios potenciales y que esto conducía a un desarrollo inconsistente del turismo. También nos hizo ver que el objetivo no era necesariamente económico, sino también muy político, tanto a corto como a largo plazo.

This research paper analyzes the main economic effects of an international competition, specifically the 2018 World Cup in Russia. I chose this topic because, being a big soccer fan, I wanted to know more about how it was organized, what variables had to be taken into account for such a competition. The main objective was to find out if it had a real impact on the Russian economy. To do this, we first analyzed how it was organized taking into account different variables. Then, in a second part, to see what the results of this competition were for the country, taking into account the economic effects, to see if the benefits were equally distributed among the organizing cities. In this long study, we have seen that factors such as politics, environment, society or even associations have to be taken into account. It also made me realize that we also had to rely on the various economic effects, that it was very difficult to predict the potential benefits and that this led to inconsistent tourism development. It also made us realize that the objective was not necessarily economic, but also very political, both in the short and long term.
