Satisfacción sexual: imagen corporal, género y orientación sexual

Abstract

Si bien la sexualidad ha sido objeto de estudio de diversas investigaciones en los últimos años, la satisfacción sexual y los diferentes factores que pueden mediar en la vivencia de esta, siguen siendo variables que necesitan atención debido a la discrepancia encontrada en los resultados obtenidos, especialmente en España. Por otro lado, en el estudio de este campo se pone de relieve la disparidad en la muestra en la que se han focalizado las investigaciones, siendo este foco el género femenino y la orientación heterosexual, no recogiendo así las necesidades de una sociedad cada día más diversa. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo explorar la satisfacción sexual y su posible relación con las variables autoestima y la percepción de la imagen corporal, teniendo en cuenta la diversidad de género y de orientación sexual

Although sexuality has been subject of study of many different investigations lately, sexual satisfaction and the multiple factors that can play a significant role within it, are still variables that need researching due to the discrepancy found in the yielded outcomes, particularly in Spain. On the other hand, research in this field emphasises the disparity on which other studies have been focusing so far - female gender and heterosexual orientation - leaving aside the needs of a constantly changing society. The purpose of this study is to investigate sexual satisfaction and its credible links to self-esteem variables and perception of one's physical aspect from a more inclusive sexual orientation and a more gender-diverse point of view.
