Diferencias por sexo en satisfacción vital, satisfacción satisfacción sexual y asertividad sexual

Abstract

Los objetivos de esta investigación han sido estudiar si existen diferencias entre hombres y mujeres en asertividad sexual, satisfacción sexual y satisfacción con la vida, analizar la posible relación entre estas variables, y por último comprobar si estas relaciones varían según el sexo de los participantes. Para ello, se ha realizado un estudio con 255 participantes, 146 hombres y 109 mujeres con edades comprendidas entre los 20 y 35 años (M = 26,11 y SD = 3,16). Para medir nuestras variables se han utilizado la New Sexual Satisfaction Scale Short (NSSS-S), una versión abreviada adaptada al español por Santos-Iglesias y Sierra (2010b) del Hurlbert Index of Sexual Assertiveness (HISA) y la Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), también traducida al español. Los resultados muestran que existen diferencias significativas entre sexos para la satisfacción sexual, pero no para la asertividad sexual y la satisfacción con la vida. También se ha encontrado que existe una relación significativa entre la asertividad sexual y la satisfacción sexual así como entre la satisfacción sexual y la satisfacción vital. Por último, se encuentran diferencias significativas en la relación existente entre asertividad sexual y satisfacción sexual entre ambos sexos, siendo mayor la relación entre estas variables en mujeres, pero no se encuentran diferencias en la relación que existe entre satisfacción sexual y satisfacción con la vida entre ambos sexos.

The objectives of this research have been the study of the differences between men and women in sexual assertiveness, sexual satisfaction and satisfaction with life, analyze the possible relationship between these variables, and finally the relationship statuses according to the sex of the participants. To this end, a study was carried out with 255 participants, 146 men and 109 women, aged between 20 and 35 years (M = 26.11 and SD = 3.16). The New Short Sexual Satisfaction Scale (NSSS-S), an abridged version adapted to Spanish by Santos-Iglesias and Sierra (2010b), Sexual Assertiveness Hurtness Index (HISA), and the Life Satisfaction Scale (SWLS), also translated into Spanish. The results show that there are differences between the sexes for sexual satisfaction, but not for sexual assertiveness or satisfaction with life. It has also been found that there is a significant relationship between sexual assertiveness and sexual satisfaction as well as between sexual satisfaction and life satisfaction. Finally, see the differences in the relationship between sexual assertiveness and sexual satisfaction between both sexes, the relationship between these variables being greater in women, but there are no differences in the relationship between sexual satisfaction and satisfaction with life in either of the sexes.
