La elección de pareja en función de la autoestima y la diferenciación del self alcanzada

Abstract

La pareja es una unidad vincular caracterizada por dinámicas propias que difieren a las que encontramos en otras estructuras relacionales. A lo largo de las últimas décadas se han llevado a cabo numerosas investigaciones acerca de cómo influye la familia de origen en la posterior elección del cónyuge. Por esta razón, en este trabajo se ha estudiado la influencia de la diferenciación del self respecto a la familia de origen, así como de la autoestima, conformada por el entorno familiar, en la elección de pareja. De forma paralela se ha estudiado la influencia del género y de la posición en la fratria en el proceso de diferenciación del self. Los resultados derivados de dicho estudio mostraron que a mayor Reactividad Emocional mayor búsqueda de Satisfacción de Necesidades. También se encontró que las personas con mayor nivel de diferenciación buscan más Complementariedad en su pareja. Se encontraron relaciones entre la posición fraterna y la búsqueda de Satisfacción de Necesidades presentando en todos los casos los hijos únicos mayor nivel de búsqueda de Satisfacción de Necesidades. Por último, en relación al género se encontró que los hombres puntúan más alto en Complementariedad mientras que las mujeres lo hacen en Corte Emocional. No obstante, no se encontraron diferencias entre la Autoestima y la búsqueda de Satisfacción de Necesidades y la Complementariedad.

The couple is a relationship characterized by its own dynamics which differ from those we find in other relational structures. In recent decades a lot of research has been carried out as to how the own family influences the subsequent choice of spouse. For this reason, this work has studied the influence of the differentiation of self with respect to the own family, and of self-esteem, as formed within the family environment, in the choice of partner. At the same time, the influence of gender and the position within siblings in the process of differentiation of self, have also been studied. The results from this study showed that the greater the Emotional Reactivity the greater the search for Satisfaction of Needs. It was also found that people with greater level of differentiation seek more Complementarity in their partner. A correlation was found between the fraternal position and the search of Satisfaction of Needs, and in all cases only childs show a greater level of Search for Satisfaction of Needs. As to gender, it was found that men score higher in Complementariety while women do so in Emotional Cut off. However, no differences were found between Self esteem with the search of Satisfaction of Needs and Self esteem with Complementariety.
