La diferenciación del self y su relación con la satisfacción marital y la satisfacción familiar

Abstract

En el presente estudio se analiza la relación entre la diferenciación del self, la satisfacción marital y la satisfacción familiar. Además, se ha tratado de estudiar los niveles de satisfacción marital en función del sexo y cómo los años de la relación correlacionan con la satisfacción marital. La muestra se compuso de 1 O 1 sujetos con edades comprendidas entre 20 y 75 años, todos ellos partícipes de relaciones sentimentales con duración entre los 2 meses y los 50 años. Los instrumentos que se utilizaron para el estudio fueron la Escala de Diferenc iación del Self (EDS), la dimensión de satisfacción perteneciente a la Escala de Ajuste Diádico (EAD) y la Escalad de Satisfacción Familiar. De acuerdo con la teoría de Bowen, los resultados confirman la relación significativa existente entre la diferenciación del self y la satisfacción marital, y la diferenciación del self y la satisfacción fami liar. Por otro lado, se obtienen puntuaciones significativas a favor de las mujeres en cuanto a rcactividad emocional y satisfacción marital. Asimismo, también se observa una relación significativa entre los años de relación y la satisfacción marital. En dicho estudio, también se discuten posibles implicaciones de la investigación para la práctica clínica y sugerencias respecto a futuras líneas de investigación.

This study analyzes the relationship between self-differentiation, marital satisfaction, and family satisfaction proposed from Bowen's theory. In addition, an attempt has been made to study the levels of marital and family satisfaction according to sex and how the years of the relationship affect marital satisfaction. The sample was made up of 1 O 1 subjects with ages between 20 and 75 years, all ofthem involved in romantic relationships lasting between 2 months and 50 years. The instruments used for the study were the Self Differentiation Scale (EDS), the satisfaction dimension belonging to the Dyadic Adjustrnent Scale (EAD) and the Family Satisfaction Scale. According to Bowen's theory, the results confirm the significant relationship between self-differentiation and marital satisfaction, and self-d ifferentiation and family satisfaction. On the other hand, significant scores are obtained in favor of women in terms of emotional reactivity and marital satisfaction. Likewise, a significant relationship is also observed between relationship years and marital satisfaction. In this study, possible implications of the research for clinical practice and suggestions regarding future lines of research are al so discussed.
